Trust in the Lord

This might sound like a cliche "Christianese" term, but it's so key to walking a life of faith.

It's the start of a new year. It's exciting to dream of what is to come, but for the most part, we really don't know what to expect. And that can be a scary thing. But when you TRUST in God, you can walk with CONFIDENCE.

But what does this confidence look like? Well, read on in Jeremiah 17:8 (NIV):

They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.

Confidence will come from being firmly planted to the source of living water - that's God. When we are grounded in Him we will always find strength and nourishment to our spirit. We don't have to worry when hard times come, because He will sustain us. And lastly, if we are connected to Him, even in the toughest circumstances, we can still push forward and be fruitful - whether that means taking care of the kids, doing your job well at work or whatever other thing God has set before you. If we plug into Him, we have nothing to fear of what may come in this new year. No worries! I'll sign up for that!

So take heart mama! You've got this! Walk in confidence with the Lord Almighty! You are blessed when you trust in Him.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
